fill a room, like his bedroom, (and i mean FILL) with balloons. 1 small movement sends them all bouncing in every direction and he'll have a blast. Also, get a 10 pound bag of rice and dump it in a wash basin and "hide" things for him. Perfect tactile development. (You can also die the rice and keep it in a rubbermaid tote) make your own goo 2 parts liquid starch to 1 part glue, food color if you want, Take hime to www.starfall.com and get him started using the comp. They have great story books on there. Blow bubbles in the bath tub. make blocks out of all of your tupperware type bowls and stack them up as high as you can and let him run inot them to knock them down.
You're only limited by your imagination.

PS-if any balloons pop make sure you get ALL the pieces picked up.

email me if you want to know how to color the rice or want more ideas!!

Finger paint if you have a newspapers to cover the work area)...Crayola also has color-magic (I think that is the name) markers with special paper --the markers can only mark the paper.
My favorite thing to do with my daughter is read stories, then we dance with music on the radio or Sesame Street, she also likes to have some quiet time where she will play with her blocks quietly....heck --if you can take the noise, you can even let the little one experiment with sounds in the kitchen with the pots and pans.

As long as the baby is engaged with you or something, then you have very little to worry about. just have fun and enjoy the baby.

I don't know if you have a boy or a girl, my girls loved playing dress up. Go through your closet and drawers and find a few clothing items you no longer wear and some shoes too.

My girls also like to put a sheet over the dining room table to make a secret tent or hiding place. They would play in there with their dolls and dishes.

Have fun with you little one..

My 17 month old son loves to read a book, called, Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see. We play hide and go seek, I say "where is Ayden" and then hide around a corner and he comes and finds me, when he sees me, I say "you found me" and then go hide again. We love to color and play peek-a-boo. We play music and play with blocks, working on colors, of course he doesn't know them, but it is a great place to start. I also try to get him to follow simple orders, like go get mommy the stuffed toy, he rarley does, but it takes practice. I hope this helps, have fun

Mine loves to visit pet stores to see the animals, or to go to Target and examine the Xmas trees and lawn decorations. Beach balls can provide hours of entertainment. Outside, take a walk and let him/her lead the way (it's about the journey, not the destination). Take a bag to collect "treasures" such as leaves and sticks along the way.

They have some AWESOME domes from playskool and other baby toy companies that have lots of activities for baby to do. If you feel your baby is too old, or you don't have the cash to go spend, you can make your own obstacle course for baby to climb around, using soft pillows and blankets. If you ahve a patio door, you can do what I did with my step son--I gave him non-toxic dry erase markers and we would sit in front of the door and he would draw. He loved it!!

Most babies LOVE taking a bath. I remember putting my sons teething ring in the tub with him & watching him try to catch it, it was sooo much fun. They love splashing the water everywhere. You can also play games like peek-a-boo, or listen to music
