The reason I am asking this is because I am writing a research paper for college on the topic. I am a Catholic and also conservative (normally against stem cell research) but my mother had cancer when I was younger so of course if she didn't have to go through what she did I should love the idea. I was just wondering other people's opinions as a sort of "poll" type-source, unscholarly of course.

I am for stem cell research because last year I was diagnosed with cancer and met some amazing toddlers with cancer.
So stem cells would help save there lives.

I am not opposed to all stem cell research but I believe that we should exercise discretion in how such cell lines are obtained. For example - there are at present an adequate number of pre existing cell lines so we do not need to harvest the fetus for this purpose. In addition - blood from the umbilical cord may be used without encouraging abortion which I am opposed to. There is also the question of what these cell lines will be used for. I am quite opposed to cloning. Good luck with your poll.

I too lean to the conservative side, but I do support stem cell research with a big IF: if the stem cells used are NOT from abortions; I couldn't support giving life to one while taking life from another;

Of course I am for it. George Bush is lying to us again. There are NOT enough lines to available for research. Religion is OK, but it shouldn't get in the way of science, especially when it's only one religion's beliefs that are followed, and the others are ignored.

Remember, the Bible says that the sun circles the earth. Do you believe that too?
