as part of a detachment or amphibious unit i mean as a work crew member of a vessel with a particular job as a CREWMAN

Yes, there are Marine Detachments assigned to some large vessels as escorts and guard duty. Most are related to Marine Corps armaments and special weapons, but they are considered ship's company.

I was on a ship from 1986 to 1990 (USS Belleau Wood LHA-3) that had a few Marines as part of ship's company. They worked with the AO's (Aviation Ordnanceman) in the magazines.

first of all the marines belong to the navy and their jobs on any ship is to provide protection to the officers of the ship. check your military history.
