Why is Mayweather trying to fight a washed up boxer like Delahoya when he should be trying to get a match with the undefeated Miguel Cotto, especially since he hasn't beaten Cotto. Sounds like Mayweather is scared. Anyway who would win and why ?

IN MY OPINION, COTTO DOES NOT REPRESENT ANY DANGER TO A GOOD BOXER, THATS WHY HE ONLY FIGHTS GUYS WHO HE THINKS HE COULD BEAT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM AGAINST CASTILLO OR HATTON JUST TO MENTION A FEW.
COTTO STANDS NO CHANCE AGAINST THIS GREAT BOXERS, PLUS SINCE HE'S NOT A GREAT FIGHTER HE WOULD NEVER GENERATE THE MONEY CASTILLO, HATTON, MAYWEATHER OR MUCH LESS DE LA HOYA WOULD.

This would be Mayweather-Corrales all over again. Cotto has shown that he can be easily hit and hurt. Yes, he has power but so did Diego Corrales and he got blitzed by Floyd. Power is only good if you can land it and Cotto is way to slow to land anything consistently against Floyd. As far as De la Hoya being washed up, he sure didn't look to washed up to me when he Ko'd Ricardo Mayorga when a lot of people were saying that he didn't have the power to knock Mayorga out. I've said all along that i think Oscar is Floyd's biggest threat because of what he brings to the table in terms of speed, talent, and smarts. The difference between Oscar and all these other fighters like Hatton, Cotto, and Margarito is that Oscar has the hand speed to be effective against Floyd. Zab Judah could've beaten Mayweather, his speed gave Floyd lots of problems in the first four rounds, but Judah is not a tough fighter mentally. And as soon as Floyd started to make the adjustments to cope with Judah's style and started to take over, Judah could not adapt his style to what Floyd was doing and resorted to fighting dirty. What makes this De la Hoya-Mayweather bout so intriguing to me is the ring intelligence of both fighters. Both fighters are capable of making the proper adjustments when the fight is not going their way and turning it around. That's why i think we'll see a great night come May 5th, 2007.

I wouldnt say DLH is washed up, but I do agree there are better fights at welter. What can Isay though...money talks. As for the fight with Cotto. Floyd has tried to get this in the past, but Cotto's camp has passed. Cotto is definately not the most dangerous fight for Floyd out there, in fact I think DLH is much riskier. Cotto's a stalking fighter who's easiliy hit. Floyd would dance around him and it wouldnt be exciting at all. Floyd is definatley not scared of Cotto. If he were to fight at welter I would like to see him with Williams, Margarito, or Cintron.

Floyd would beat Cotto down.As for De la hoya he is not washed up by a long shot and it is a big risk for Floyd to move up in weight to fight a bigger and stronger fighter

Cotto might not even win his next fight. Cotto is too protected for my liking. He just hasn't fought any great fighters yet to prove he is worthy of that kind of fight. Mayweahter pot shots him all night long.
