With everything going on I really can't afford to give them the Christmas they truly deserve. I've heard of programs and dear.santa letters but I don't know how to get in touch with the programs. Can someone please offer me a little insight on what to do, so my children can have the Christmas they deserve. I just want to see their smiling faces on Christmas morning.

Hi,
I'm not sure how old your children are since you didn't mention their ages.
If you talk to the school system in your area they can put your children on a special tree called the Angel Tree. This is how it works...
You talk to your local school and they put your childrens' age on a piece of paper along with their sex (boy or girl) Then a tree is usually set up in your local town with all the childrens' papers attached to it.
Then when people come to visit the tree, they pick a child off the tree and they buy a gift for that child.
(You and your children personally remain anonymous and your names are never used in any way.)
Then after someone buys a gift for a child, that gift is put under the tree with your child's paper attached to it.
Then its the school's job to wrap the gifts and to be sure that the right gifts get to the right families.
Anyway, now I'm sure that you know why it's called an Angel Tree.
Please think about this idea and contact your local system to help put your children on this very special tree.
Good luck to you and your children and may you all have a Very Merry Christmas this Year!!

WOW it's kinda hard for you to work if you have no one stable to watch your young ones but that would be the best idea. Where is the kids Father? He needs to be helping you. Otherwise many families do what your doing, so make the best of it and be glad your not homeless. At least you have your parents to stay with. It could be a lot worse TRUST ME! Be grateful and count your blessings that you still have parents that are this nice to you. Ask them if they can watch the little ones while you work part time or full time and in return you will pay them a small amount of money to help them with finances. Your not disables right? If not be the strong person in the family and start working again.

depending on where you live her's a few tips. 1. if you belong to a church they may help IF you ask. 2. food banks help with christmas hampers and gifts for the little ones. you have to register now because they do it about a month before x mas. 3. call the different organizations in your city, like The Salvation Army or St. Vincent de Paul or look in the phone book, or better yet call your local welfare office. they will all be able to tell you who to call for x mas hampers for the kids.

I NOT TO SURE WHERE YOU ARE TO DIRECT YOU , BUT I WOULD START WITH MY LOCAL CHURCH OR CALL YOUR INFO FOR YOUR CITY AND SEE ABOUT RED CROSS AND SALVATION ARMY , AND JUST FOR THOUGHT, I KNOW YOU WANT TO GIVE YOUR CHILDREN SOMETHING AND IN MY EYES YOU ALREADY DID A BIGGER PLACE TO LIVE, WHEN I WAS GROWING UP MY MOM HAD 5 OF US AND NO SHE DID NOT ALWAYS HAVE MONEY FOR GIFTS SO SHE WOULD MAKE A BIG XMAS DINNER AND BREAKFAST AND BAKE ALL KINDS OF CAKES AND COOKIES AND MAKE US LITTLE GIFTS WITH WHAT EVER SHE HAD. THAT'S THE TRUE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS IT'S THE LOVE NOT THE GIFTS MAYBE THEY WONT UNDERSTAND BUT IT'S A GREAT WAY FOR YOU TO START AND SHOW YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT BEING HUMBLE AND EXCEPTING WHAT YOU HAVE AND MAKING THE BEST OF IT . MAY ALL THE BLESSING BE UPON YOU AND YOUR DURING THIS HOLIDAY SPIRIT . IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BIRTH OF THE LORDS SON NOT TOYS AND GIVE ME, GIVE ME, TEACH THEM THE STORY OF JESUS BIRTH AND WHAT IT ALL MEANS , IT'S SO MUCH MORE THEN ALL THE FAN FARE

i know a person who is the same boat. but around Christmas time she gets depressed about it, because she can't get them what they deserve. first you can call a community social services programs to see if they can help. or just explain that Santa can only bring a certain amount of things to you so pick one or two things within reason and we"ll see if he can bring it. there is no sense of stressing yourself out over it. trust me you just got the best part of a Xmas present in obtaining your own home, and getting the best possible start for you and yours. it will take time for the best x-mas ever. but when it happens it will be the blessing you weren't expecting. good luck . and i'll keep you in my prayers.

Contact the local Salvation Army. They do the toys for tots program and if you are accepted, which by the sounds of it, you would be, they will provide a food basket, some toys, etc for your children. I volunteered for this when I was in college. It is a great program!

I think that you should go to a local church or salvation army because they have programs that can donate toys and food for you and your children can have a great Christmas on that morning

In the phone book in your town look up these numbers: The Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, many churches have programs, your local welfare office can match your children to a program.Try Catholic Human Services(even if you are not catholic you can go).

Try your local social services office, or Catholic Social Services. Most church "adopt" a family or more during the holidays. Ask around. But remember, happiness can't be bought.

Once when my daughter turned 5, we had no money for big presents, etc. So, I went to Wal-mart and got her a big box of new crayons and some new coloring books of her favorite characters. She was estatic! I spent like $7. You don't need to spend a lot of money for presents.
