1 small carton of heavy cream and a pinch of salt - shake approximately 45minutes - as a kid my gramma used a mason jar and had us kids roll it back and forth between us. That's it - you can use a food processor to and it'll be done in about 20 minutes. Good Luck!

The only way I know to make butter is to buy heavy whipping cream and whip it with an egg beater, blender, or food processor until it turns into butter. I would guess if you shook a carton of heavy whipping cream it should turn into butter that way to but I am sure it will take a lot of shaking.

You can't.... You must be thinking of heavy whipping cream. It comes in a carton and if you shake it long enough, it becomes butter!

Like the other responses said you need to use whipping cream but you should add a bit of salt or it won't taste right.

I think you would have had to have used heavy cream. I don't think you can make butter out of homogenized milk.
