This is always a big hit in our house during the winter season. I also use a tea bag that has a drawstring in it to put the whole cloves and cinnamon sticks in and just toss the bag in the crockpot while the cider simmers. Makes the whole house smell wonderful !

HOT MULLED CIDER

2 quarts apple cider
¼ c. brown sugar
¼ tsp. salt
6 whole cloves
6 sticks cinnamon
Dash of Nutmeg
1 sweet orange, thinly sliced
2 thin slices lemon

Combine ingredients in a large boiler or crock-pot and heat at low temperature for 3 to 4 hours. Serve hot. Keeps well in refrigerator about a week. Can be reheated a cup at a time in the microwave. Delicious during the winter holidays and your house smells great while it simmers.

I used to work at a coffee house that made warm spiced cider, which was really yummy! Just get mulling spices (usually available in a teabag-sort of thing), add to the cider and warm it on the stove. The spices will infuse the cider with the most wonderful flavor (And smell!).

I gallon apple cider
12 whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks
2 whole nutmegs
2 pieces cystallized ginger

Put in crock pot until warm
I prefer a box of mix. They are everwhere...I think walmart even has a store brand over by the tea and coffee and next to the cider this time of year...

Yes , you can warm it., don't boil. Use a Cinnamon stick too. I juiced 20 lbs of apples this year, put the juice and foam into freezer bags and into the freezer. I can take out a bag, warm it up and add abit of water with a cinnimon stick. Yummy.

we usually pour some into coffee mugs, add a cinnamon stick and microwave it for about 50 seconds, then add an orange slice on top
