Yes, a christian can lose their salvation because once the person becomes a christian the bible becomes their standard; some people may think it's too hard to follow the bible but like (losing weight) a person simply most not deprive themselves of food to lose weight but must develop a healthy diet in order to lose weight; in the same way being a christian is something that has to be learned, it is also a choice. Once saved doesn't mean always saved. For more on this and for scriptural references please check out the link below.

Jesus said that the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. (Matthew 10:22; 24:13) To endure they must be in saved condition, and they must endure in the condition.
Logically, it follows that one who does not endure to the end will lose his "salvation."
Someone above mentioned Judas as an example of someone who lost their salvation. Someone else mentioned Hebrews 6:4-8. Both of these are good points.
The "Old Testament" things were written for our instruction and warning. (Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:11) With that in mind, note this from Jude verse 5: "I desire to remind you, despite your knowing all things once for all time, that Jehovah, although he saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterwards destroyed those not showing faith." These people were "saved" but then lost their salvation.

No, a christian cannot "lose" their salvation. We are all sinners and that doesn't stop when we are saved.
John 3:16 says that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son so that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life"
It doesn't say that you "might" have everlasting life if you do everything right. It says you WILL have everlasting life. Once you become a child of God, he will never leave you or forsake you.

The Bible shows that people can lose their salvation. Take a look at these scriptures.
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white rainment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life,... Revelation 3:5
...He that endureth to the end shall be saved. Matthew 10:22
And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. Exodus 32:33
When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. Ezekiel 34:18-19
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life,... Revelation 22:19

i don't know if falling away means that they never were in the first place. but your question did remind me of this verse.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
by that verse we can assume that not all proclaimed Christians will enter heaven. it's those who live the Christain life or in other words do God's will.
Mat 21:28 ¶ But what think ye? A [certain] man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
Mat 21:29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
Mat 21:30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I [go], sir: and went not.

Once saved always saved is bogus, it denies Hebrews 6 which clearly states that if you reject Christ after accepting Him and tasting the fruits of salvation, then you will lose your salvation and it will be nearly impossible to get it back. I.E., grieving the Holy Spirit.

Yes, a Christian can lose his salvation.
In other words if he backslides, If he has lost the first love he had in the beginning, he can lose his salvation.
That's why it is said in Philippians 2 : 12,"...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling".

my opinion is yes. Then again, if you "accept" Christ but don't really change, was there a real conversion? One could argue that the person was never saved in the first place. True acceptance results in repentance and a turning away from the sinful life.

First Premise: If a Christian = "one who is Baptized" - "born again by water and the Spirit" (John Chapter 3)....then...
That is the just the beginning of the process. "Baptism doth now save you" (1 Peter)
"Salvation" is merely the state of "spiritual health" - from the Latin = "salus" = "health"
But we are also clearly called to "work out our salvation with fear and trembling" (St. Paul said it, not me)
So...a Christian CAN indeed lose his/her salvation by walking aways from it....i.e., "choosing to lose it".
God won't drop us, but we certainly are capable (free will) of "jumping out of His hand"!!

A big fat NO to 'once saved always saved'.
It seems Judas Iscariot would be a good example of that.
Hebrews 10:26 also agrees.
