We learn through our eyes our ears and by doing. Teaching well, also requires the use of all three. One of the messages of Jesus was He through the bankers and merchants out of the Temple. In this teaching He used all three teaching methods,, perhaps to emphasize this teaching ??? Do we give this teaching the attention it deserves or are we allowing them in, in many subtle ways.

If you think we might be,, tell me how you see it, or if you work at practicing this teaching how does your group do it.

good info to share and group think perhaps

Saddly, this is not the forum for group thinking, but I disagree with your conclusions in any case. Jesus was subtle in his teachings, he wanted the temple of God to be a place of care and comfort, not a place of business, so he had no choice but to throw the cheaters out. That he went against the rule of the priests, sealed his demise. which he could have done at any time, but held off. If there is something we miss, it is the series of events and teachings as put forth in Matthew chapters 21-24. Understanding them we do not need Revelation or the Apostle Paul.

Jesus considered the Temple Holy and to see it used for material gain was distasteful. One of His main themes was the care of the poor and how the rich seek to build to their empires but it will not count to their benefit b4 God. To aid others in need in whatever way we can is the greatest thing we can do. It is manifested by church and other groups gathering goods to give to those having a tough time. One day a scruffy looking man was just sitting in the middle of one of two turning lanes. I got the impression he was so hurt by society's neglect he just didn't give a hoot. I pulled up next to him and handed him a $20 bill. He happened to look down at it probably thinking it was $1 and when he saw it his face changed and looked up and kindly said 'thank you miss'. That made me feel good.

I think in the sermon on the mount Jesus teaches all we need to know ,but if that is not enough I think there is nothing simpler than the ten commandments, people are too inclined to complicate matters that in reality are very straight forward

treat others as you wish to be treated yourself - Jesus said in the sermon of the mount that is one of his most important beliefs - so many people don't though

I think a lot of people forget that whole "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" thing.
