I've been reading through the answers given on a couple of questions in the health section, and Gikgo Biloba has come up loads of times. I've never heard of it. Can you tell me what it can be used for? Also, is it pill or potion?

It is one of the world's best studied herbs and there have been hundreds of scientific studies published documenting its complex & varied effects
The leaves of the Ginkgo tree are mainly used and it is used to prepare remedies not the seed, nut or fruit.Ginko Biloba can be taken in tablet form(available from most chemists and health food shops).
It can be used to improve the following- Poor circulation - Mental fuzziness - Symptoms of Alzheimer's disease - Memory loss - Vertigo - Ringing in ears and it also enhances circulation to brain, heart, limbs, ears & eyes and has been used in treating cerebral insufficiency, senile dementia, & Alheimer's disease, and it may reduce cardiovascular risks.
The benefits of taking Ginko Biloba are that it has potent antioxidant effects and these are used to treat peripheral arterial disease & certain eye and ear disorders. It is also said to improve memory & other cognitive functions.

I take Ginkyo tablets for restless leg syndrome (The really uncomfortable and annoying need to move your legs when tired). I stopped taking it for a couple of months a little while ago and it really had a negative effect on my sleep. Since I've started taking it again, I've been waking with this one night in ten. Without it, I was getting this every other night and it was driving me up the wall.
It's good for the circulation (which is why it works on the RLS). It's also meant to be good for the brain and memory and concentration in particular.

Absolutely not. Every study done with Ginko Biloba shows that it has no effect on memory whatsoever.

The supplement I'm familiar with is Mental Acuity Plus. It contains ginkgo, bilberry, hawthorn, and B vitamins and it not only enhances memory and decision-making, but it also lowers homocysteine levels for cardiovascular health.

These are in caplet form.

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions.
