Turn the 5 and 2 minute timers over at the same time. As soon as the 2 minute timer finishes, start the egg, and continue cooking until the 5 minute one is done.

it's easy all you have to do is turn both the timers over at the same time as soon as the 2 minute timer is done boil the egg there will be exactly 3 minutes left on the 5 minute timer 5-2=3.
