What are they doing that is so bad? They aren't doing anything that harms anyone in any way. Are they bad just because the bible says so? If the bible said blacks (or any arbitrary group of people) were evil would you hate them too?

In response to "Uncle Thesis", why exactly is homosexuality "unacceptable"? Is it merely because the bible says so?? If the bible said some arbitrary group of people were "evil" would that be enough for you??

because King James was a homophobe--he was also a sexist, but christians learned to ingore those parts of the bible--homophobia is still fashionable for tyhe moment, so they aren't in any hurry to discount their precious two verses

the LORD JESUS CHRIST Said it. Sodomites and their sympathizers are not angry with me. They are angry at the Way, the Truth, the Resurrection, the True Vine and the Life: John 11:25-26, 14:6, 15:1-11. Sodomy is an abomination: Gen 19, Lev 20, Ex 20, Deut 5, Rom 1,2; Rev 21:8, etc. Sodomy is the MOST EVIL of abominations because sodomites can't reproduce. They proselytize and get evil sodomite judges to soul destroy children via adoption. Sickening, rauncy, fecal eating, golden showered sodomites.

a noisy loud specific: Leviticus 20:13, etc. each little newborn knows of that. Many exchange into reprobate by utilising "training" and relentless committing of sin. Sodomy is an abomination!! that's why the LORD says they're to be tried and carried out. Hitler and Idi Amin, Clinton and all very evil men have been sodomites.

I agree with you--but the way your question is phrased, I thought you were saying they are evil.
I can only assume that the rampant hatred toward homosexuals expressed by some allegedly religious people must stem from fear. Many times fear comes from a lack of understanding, or perhaps these people fear certain same-sex impulses they themselves might have. Otherwise, why should anyone care what two consenting adults do in private?

I'm a Christian. I don't hate homosexuals nor do I think they are evil. I believe that the act of homosexuality is evil, but I also think that adultery and murder are evil. The Bible says that there is only one who is good. Therefore, we are all bad. Most people attack homosexuals because they can't admit their own sins.

Homosexuals are not evil. Homosexuality is evil and is sin.Just like to lie , to steal, to murder, to fornicate. What we need to understand is that no sin is greater than another. You can't put value on sin. Sin is sin. God loves EVERYONE. He just doesn't like the thing that we do that are not of God. But we can ask Him to forgive us for our sins and ask Him to help us to turn away from the sins that we struggle with. Remember, don't worry about what people think, because they don't have a heaven or hell to put you in. God is your judge.

They're no more evil than Christians. Christians are sinful, so are non-Christians. Engaging in homosexual sex is no different from a Christian losing his temper or hating a gay person. Christians are as in need of God's forgiveness as homosexuals are.

Some Christians recognise this. Some gays recognise this. As for those, in either camp, who don't recognise it... well, that's where the real problems start.

A lot of people don't recognize that there are more sexual combinations than just guy on guy that they don't like. I mean, who likes the idea of Dick Cheney having sex? Well, I'm betting only Dick Cheney and maybe (maybe) his wife. I find that disgusting and nasty. So, really, it's not just homosexuals people dislike, but all couples that don't "strike their fancy." But, they don't condemn those other couples (like Rush Limbaugh and his unlucky mate) to hell. I don't get it.

they arent. they are no different (biblically) then alcoholics, or adulterers, people who lust are just as bad. why do christians decide they need to pick out this ONE sin to make a deal of? is that not judging? why are they casting the "first" stone ?
1 corinthians 6:9
9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

bible puts it in with, alcoholics, greedy, thieves, adulterers, swindlers, slanderers. beats me why they think that homosexuality is the only sin. i know many many christians that can be put under any of the categories above.

They aren't.

They are doing nothing that is "so bad". They are depriving no one of their rights, liberties and freedoms simply by being homosexual. They are not creating victims. They are not harming themselves or others. They are not bringing about the total decline of all civilization and morality.

The Bible doesn't ACTUALLY say that they are bad. All the reference to "homosexuality" are actually either mistranslations or misunderstandings. See my answer here for more details: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArWoIHIpOPn97IOHnugLNT_sy6IX?qid=20061108125743AArUGGQ

The Bible condones slavery and people actually DID use that as a justification to keep slaves and treat black people as property.
