Where can I purchase meat tenderizer?

Question

I heard meat tenderizers can stop puppies from eating their own feces, but I'm not sure where to purchase it. I've tried petco but they don't carry it. I live around SF. Thanks.

You can find meat tenderizer in your local grocery store. It's usually available in the spice section.

Meat tenderizer is sold in grocery stores - the ingredient you're looking for is papain - an enzyme found naturally in papaya and pineapple. It works for some dogs - not all, but is a cheap method to try. Although puppies often grow out of this nasty habit, I'd also look into a different dog food. It's possible your puppy is not getting sufficient nutrition in his diet.

If its the same meat tenderizer you would put on steak or hamburgers then you buy it in any grocery store in the Spices isle...
I've never heard of using it for puppies!

The vets I worked for suggested Adolph's meat tenderizer, which is carried in most any grocery store. It is usually in the aisle with spices, flour, etc.

Go to your local supermarket and in the spices aisle you will find meat tenderizer. It shouldnt be too expensive. If you have to buy the store name brand instead of a name brand. :)

In the spices section at your grocer's.Usually on the bottom or next to the bottom shelf, in a shaker cardboard can..red....the name you are looking for is Adolf's Meat Tenderizer.
