Don't sell it . Why you say ? Because you could get engaged again . Now don't get your shorts in a knot and say how uncool that is . It's not . You want to get your money out of the ring right ? Well think of this . The ring cost you a good piece of change . Right ? Well to get something back on this keep the ring . Have the stone / stones reset into another setting . Get something back on the gold and still have the value of a good stone . This way you wouldn't be putting out more money on another ring . You save money . And can spend it on a nice Honeymoon . But make sure you don't tell your intended you did that . When you get married for the first time money is tight . Ya got to cut corners .

Have it appraised. Take lots of pictures. List it on E-bay with a reserved price. (Don't mention that it was intended for someone else)

Before you take it to a pawn shop, go to a jewelery to have it appraised first.

pawn shop. they won't give you a lot on the gold, but if the diamond is large enough, you might get some of what you put into it.
