Sweetie,
The most important thing is your heart is in the right place. I grew up in a christian home. And I didn't realize my sin until 7 years ago, I thought it's good enough to go to church, and the rest of the week I went ahead partying and sin against God. And until one night, I realize how foolish I had been, and how selfish my prayer was. I pray everynight, but it's all selfish prayer. I didn't realize that I asked God to do according to my will, not His will. So I crushed and angry..Until I realize that I'm a sinner and I need to be born again.
Look, you know the 10 Commandments right ? It was the perfect Law. Look at it and read it over and over again. And tell yourself how many times you break each one of it. (Lie, steal, blaspheme, lust, etc). When you realize that you're not a good person after all, then you will appreciate more of what Jesus's done for you in that cross. You will realize of how you need THE SAVIOR.
Look at it from this prespective. If you find yourself in court with $5000000 fine, will a judge let you go simply because you're sorry and you won't commit the crime again? Of course not. You should be sorry for breaking the law, off course, you shouldn't commit the crime again. But only when someone pays your fine you will be free from the demands of the law. God will not forgive sinner on the basis of how sorry they were. However God will only realease us from the demand for eternal justice in the basis of someone else paid our fine. And 2000 years ago, Jesus died on the cross to pay for the sins of the world. His word on the cross were "it's finished". In other words the debt has been paid full. All who repent and trust him receive forgiveness of sins. Their case is dismissed on the basis of His suffering death.
So, just ask yourself a question, if you die tomorow will you be ready to be in front of God ? And except His judgement ? Or you know for sure that you're going to heaven.

First of all you need to be honest with yourself. You can start by doing what Jesus said you should do. Many people call themselves Christians but do not follow His teachings. Don't be like them. Read the Surmon on the Mount and take it to heart. Pray, confess, and forgive. Cutting indicates that you have some deep guilt issues. What happened that you have so much guilt? When you are ready to talk about it you will begin to understand. You can get through this. Peace.

It is obvious that you are a good, sincere person. Try to let go of the belief that you deserve something bad. Any religion that tells you that is lying. God loves you unconditionally. Start entertaining the idea that God is already present and is infinite love rather than any kind of judgement or human idea of a deity. Feel the presence. Imagine it. Practice it. It will come bit by bit.
Know that the true experience of God's love is available to everybody and that the human body, spirit and mind is designed to experience it. Just practice faith, day by day and know that this ever present love is all around you.

I find the answers on here interesting....your relationship with God is a personal thing but getting more into yourself is not what it is about. To find yourself and your Relationship with God is easier when you give of yourself to others...this is hard when you work with and for people who really need you (the needy, the sick, the hurt, the poor, the addicts (the people that many try to avoid)) a person tends to find their true beliefs and also develop that closer relationship to God if that is what they are truly searching for.....try it, it does work...put others first in every way and do not look for pats on the back or outward recognition as the reward have it come from within in....(the so called be a good person answer on here).

As a Christian we may be able to experience close to to God for all time, besides the undeniable fact that, there are cases that I have felt in route of Him then others. the reason that I have experienced is this. The extra i go with to spend time with Him, the closer I grow to be. His favor is to be extremely close to to His little ones. I have a persistent soreness affliction that for awhile honestly drew me remote from Him. It replaced into what i did not do. the shortcoming of closeness had not something to do with what God did. even as i realized that i might want to adventure His grace and potential contained in the course of my soreness, not purely even as God keen to heal me, then I drew closer. now and again we may not continually "experience" the presence of God, yet which could by no potential negate the shown truth that he's modern-day.

Being a PK can be tough, I know a couple, and in the past they've felt much like you.
Don't stop singing or clapping or praising! You are as worthy as any of us.
Kneel and cry out to God for help. Unload all that bothers you to Him. Don't keep this inside you. I'll pray for you.

Ok look-this is what satan is doing. He makes you feel that you aren't worthy to be a christian. You are!! We all are. Just pray to him," Lord, I don't know how to do this, but I want to get to know you more. I know I am a sinner, so please wash away my sins." He died for your sins, all you have to do is ask and he'll forgive. Don't ever tell yourself you aren't worthy to be a christian-that you should just give up. That's satan! He wants to make you feel like you're a big loser because you sin a lot. He sings, " Look at you-you're a big LOSER! L-O-S-E-R! You don't deserve to be called a christian-just go away and leave god alone." Everything Satan says is a lie, so just ignore him and pray. If you don't feel anything, then pray for him to help you.

Holding the Bible as the complete and only divine revelation, we strongly believe that God is eternally one and also eternally the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, the three being distinct but not separate. We hold that Christ is both the complete God and the perfect man. Without abandoning His divinity, He was conceived in the womb of a human virgin, lived a genuine human life on earth, and died a vicarious and all-inclusive death on the cross. After three days He resurrected bodily and has ascended to the heavens. He is now in glory, fully God but still fully man. We look to His imminent return with the kingdom of God, by which He will reign over the earth in the millennium and in eternity. We confess that the third of the Trinity, the Spirit, is equally God. All that the Father has and is, is expressed by the Son; and all that the Son has and is, is realized as the Spirit. We further believe that mankind is in need of God's salvation. Though we were absolutely unable to fulfill the heavy demands of God's righteousness, holiness, and glory, Christ fulfilled all the requirements through His death on the cross. Because of Christ's death, God has forgiven us of our sins, reconciled us to Himself, and justified us by making Christ our righteousness. Based on Christ's redemption, God regenerates the redeemed with His Spirit to consummate His salvation, that they may become His children. Now possessing God's life and nature, the believers enjoy a daily salvation in His Body in this age and the eternal salvation in the coming age and in eternity. In eternity we will dwell with God in the New Jerusalem, the consummation of God's salvation of His elect.

Being a Christian has never been about "worthiness" - it's about forgiveness.
My advice is to go to Confession and clean your slate.
But in the meantime, before you reach that state of grace....confess your sins to God. Know that He forgives you. Stop trying to be perfect. Only One Man did that....and you are not Him.
But He knows you...and He loves you...and he forgives you..."all your trespasses".
Accept that.
Be at peace.
Here's a good prayer:

If you've prayed and asked Him into your heart, He is there and will never leave you. We've been given this lifetime to become close to God, and it is not easy! I still have bad habits too, and God works with us one by one with those. His main concern, in my opinion, is not those little things, but that He wants us to be right with Him in our hearts. The rest will come in His time, which is always perfect.
The verse that comes to mind is : 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ~ pray without ceasing

I used to be like you.. Last time I cried bitterly at times when I do Quiet Time everyday and like 'Nothing Happened'. I was sad because God doesn't seem to be responding to me.
But just 2 days ago I felt His tremendous Love for me. Miraculous Feeling I can't explain.
And I looked back. I realised I have been doubting God all these while even after repenting and accepting Jesus into my life. I hate Satan for putting bad thoughts into my mind that God doesn't love me but those other christians.
And I remembered praying to God for the growth in faith. Because I myself know before that that I have no faith(or a bit?) and I really yearn that one day He appears to me... and He did.. I felt His Love..
Hey.. don't feel sad.. you have to know that God loves you very much.. He will be very hurt if you continue to cut youself..
"He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." John 8:47
I remembered the last time I saw this verse I felt very sad.. because that means I don't belong to God..
Maybe the reason why don't hear or feel God is because of your sins. Remember God hates sins? But He loves you very much. Because of your sins you are separated from God.
So what can you do now? Just confess all your bad habits to Him. Tell Him to much you want to get closer to Him and not to be ashamed of Him. Tell Him all your fears, all your pressures. Ask Him to help you get closer to Him and for the Holy Spirit to fill you. Whatever you are feeling scared right now.. just talk to Him. Throw all your troubles to Him, ask Him to GET RID of the fear.
And then Trust that matter in His Hands. Have Faith in Him for...
"Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."
John16:24
Ask in Jesus' Name!! Jesus is your best friend :)
