I am sorry that some feel the need to spread offensive material to that site. I am a Christian and feel ashamed that others would do that. I am not sure that it fuels hate crimes directly, since to do such a thing in the first place requires blind hatred and no affection for fellow man, but I am in agreement that it does not help the situation.
Yes, many things are a sin. . .
1. Divorce, unless a partner is unfaithful, and even then only the innocent mate is free to remarry; Jesus made this point to Jewish religious leaders who tried to trick him: ‘Did you not read that he who created them at the beginning made them male and female and said: “For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will stick to his wife, and the two will be one flesh”? So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together let no man put apart.’ They said to him: ‘Why, then, did Moses prescribe giving a certificate of dismissal and divorcing her?’ He said to them: ‘Moses, out of regard for your hardheartedness, made the concession to you of divorcing your wives, but such has not been the case from the beginning. I say to you that whoever divorces his wife except on the grounds of fornication and marries another commits adultery.’” (Matt. 19:3-9, NW) “When again in the house the disciples began to question him concerning this. And he said to them: ‘Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her, and if ever a woman, after divorcing her husband, marries another, she commits adultery.’” (Mark 10:10-12, NW) “Everyone that divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he that marries a woman divorced from a husband commits adultery.”—Luke 16:18, NW.
2. Premarital sex is also a sin, as sex was designed for a man and a woman who are united in the holy bonds of matrimony, and we are instructed to “flee from fornication.” (1 Corinthians 6:18)
3. I am not sure where you are getting the idea that "garments of different threads" are a sin, but I think you may be referencing 1 Timothy 2:9, 10 and 1 Peter 3:3, 4: : “Likewise I desire the women to adorn themselves in well-arranged dress, with modesty and soundness of mind, not with styles of hair braiding and gold or pearls or very expensive garb, but in the way which befits women professing to reverence God, namely, through good works.”
“And do not let your adornment be that of the external braiding of the hair and of the putting on of gold ornaments or the wearing of outer garments, but let it be the secret person of the heart in the incorruptible apparel of the quiet and mild spirit, which is of great value in the eyes of God.” This scripture is not literal in the sense that these things are a sin. "The point of this Scriptural admonition is not what Christian women may or may not wear but on what they are to place the emphasis: not on the outward but on the inward adornment, on the mind and heart, on the right kind of disposition, if they would be attractive and appealing." Although many pagan worshippers did promote a specific type of hairstyle and adornment that Christian women at the time avoided.
4. As for the dead pig skin, this was under the Mosaic Law, which Christians were no longer under when Jesus fulfilled the purpose of the law: to "serve as a tutor to Christ." For the nation of Israel before Pentecost 33 CE, however, it was a law requirement for several reasons: one, it "served to keep the Israelites separate from pagan nations, to promote cleanliness and health, and to remind them of their holiness to God; Leviticus 19:2." and two, many of the animals that were considered unclean under the law were carriers of diseases unless properly cooked and were harder to clean than others. God was benefiting the Israelites by protecting them from disease and death as much as possible. He also made it unclean to touch a dead body, an indesputably unclean practice that was not proven to be sanitary and necessary by scientists until Louis Pasteur and his "radical" ideas about germs in the late 1800's.
Hypocrisy abounds in the world's religions. The test of the true religion is if it follows ALL of God's laws, not just the ones that are convenient. That is why I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. We follow all that the Bible has to say, not just the parts that we like. If you like, you may go to www.watchtower.org for more information.
So, are you straight yet?

Are you ready to be hetrosexual according to God's law? OK, well here we go.
1.) Divorce is a sin and those that practice it are going against his law. One exception:
"Whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication, and marries another commits adultery." (Matthew 19:9)
http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/1999/4/22/box_05.htm
2.) Premarital sex is wrong as it is fornication, which is sex outside of the marriage relationship whether unmarried or married. Anyone taking part in false worship was reffered to as fornicating against Jehovah.
Whats Wrong With Premarital Sex?

3.) Wearing garments of different threads:
Garments were of various colors, variegated, and striped, and some were embroidered. (Jg 5:30) Varieties of weave existed. The high priest’s white linen robe was woven “in checkerwork.” (Ex 28:39) The Israelites who were not priests might wear a garment of linen and another of wool but were forbidden by God’s law to wear a garment of two sorts of thread, mixed.—Le 19:19; De 22:11; see CLOTH; DYES, DYEING
4.)Not touching a dead pigs skin:
Physical Cleanness. Their personal habits made the nation of Israel a comparatively healthy people, notwithstanding their nomadic wanderings in the wilderness for 40 years. God’s laws governing their camp life, including the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, were unquestionably responsible for this.
The Scriptures often use physical cleanness as a symbol or representation of spiritual cleanness
Leviticus 10:19-11:8
Today they have presented their sin offering and their burnt offering before Jehovah, while such things as these began to befall me; and had I eaten the sin offering today, would it prove satisfactory in Jehovah’s eyes?” 20 When Moses got to hear that, then it proved satisfactory in his eyes.
11 And Jehovah proceeded to speak to Moses and Aaron, saying to them: 2 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘This is the living creature that YOU may eat of all the beasts that are upon the earth: 3 Every creature that splits the hoof and forms a cleft in the hoofs and chews the cud among the beasts, that is what YOU may eat.
4 “‘Only this is what YOU must not eat among the chewers of the cud and the splitters of the hoof: the camel, because it is a chewer of the cud but is no splitter of the hoof. It is unclean for YOU. 5 Also the rock badger, because it is a chewer of the cud but does not split the hoof. It is unclean for YOU. 6 Also the hare, because it is a chewer of the cud but it does not have the hoof split. It is unclean for YOU. 7 Also the pig, because it is a splitter of the hoof and a former of a cleft in the hoof, but it itself does not chew the cud. It is unclean for YOU. 8 YOU must not eat any of their flesh, and YOU must not touch their dead body. They are unclean for YOU.
Dead bodies. Under the Mosaic Law governing dead bodies, there were different degrees of uncleanness: Touching a dead beast made one unclean for only the day; touching a dead man resulted in uncleanness for a week. In the first instance a person was required only to wash his garments, or in case he ate an animal that had died of itself or had been torn by a wild beast, then he had to bathe in addition to washing his garments. (Le 5:2; 11:8, 24, 27, 31, 39, 40; 17:15)
Christian Cleanness. Christians are not under the Law and its cleansing requirements, even though such Law and its customs were still in force in the days when Jesus was on earth. (Joh 11:55) The Law had “a shadow of the good things to come”; ‘the reality belongs to Christ.’ (Heb 10:1; Col 2:17)

Unfortunately there are some misguided people in the world, be they Christian or anything else. I think it's unfair of you to say many Christians post offensive questions. How can you really be sure they are Christians? I believe we are all sinners and need to turn from our sins to strengthen our relationship with God. That statement either offended everyone or no one at all.

where are you reading that divorce is a sin? The bible makes it clear that God does not like divorce. God hates divorce is that it destroys His plan for men, women and especially, children (see Eph. 5:22-6:4). Some of the others that you post are from OT, which we are no longer under the law. read in hebrews, He made a new covenant.
They may be posting questions in the gay sites because God says to get the word out, they just have to choose to listen...or not?

read the book (besides the Bible) "What's so amazing about Grace" by...Phillip Yancey. It addresses issues in there on this very subject. How cruel some christians can be when everyone is not the same. I am a christian and God teaches us not to be judgemental. He teaches us to love, not hate. He also says that we don't have to like the sin, but Love the sinner. We as people and christians are sinners. If we profess to be perfect, then we not only lie to others, but lie to ourselves and God. We will not be made perfect until we are in His sight. (meaning after judgement) which is left to Him alone. We are not judges and yet we tend to judge others, christians and non-christians, when we don't understand their way of life. I ask forgiveness of my sins daily and thank God for changing my heart. I pray that as a christian, that I will not be narrow-minded, and not to judge a book by its cover, but appreciate the book inside that cover. God bless!

The law covenant had hundreds of laws...the people were to follow the letter of the law as closely as they could....Jesus fulfilled the law covenant....we are not under it any longer...we are under the commandments of love God first with everthing we have and love our neighbor as ourselves. You will have to want to be straight..You have two choices...sin by being gay and die...or be as good as you can be and get life.
The choice is yours...we each have to carry our own burdens and are responsible for facing the judgement day alone.

I do understand your feeling being gay and also a former leader of a Charismatic group. I have learned to accept the reality that a lot of my breathren Christians speak of respect and love for everyone but seems to forget this when they deal with gays. However, I would not want to step down to their level because my faith is between me and my God, and no one can go against between us. Now with regards in your desire to understand the faith, it takes not only reason but also faith - they are complimentary.

I can't explain "every angle" southernboy. Those that go to the site you mentioned shouldn't go there to "bash" so to speak.
Did you ever consider that if we all followed His word, His commandments, totally and honestly, would we even be here talking about it?

Even if I gave you all of the answers that you seek - you still would not stop being gay....being "gay' is not an intellectual exercise. Deciding to stop being gay doesn't work all that well...
But - I know a guy who did it....and he can help you, too:

Dont stop.
Yes, I have considered it all. And yes, there is definit hypocricy in the belief of it. Consider, I remarried after a divorce, and noone in my faith said a word to me. My sin, is equal to yours.
Be gay, and be happy about it. As a Christian, a follower of Christ, who taught love and tolerance, I wish you only the best!!
