Could Dick...through a possible change of heart, find other priorities and decide to join the US Military Reserves as a Reserve Officer after his tenure as VP ends after January of 2009. I think it is possible with a age and medical waiver and considering that he was once VP, it is possible that his wealthy friends could pull a few strings and rules could be streched.

Possible...not probable.

Jason W. Perhaps you have confused Dick Cheney with Donald Rumsfeld, who retired as a Naval Reserve Officer in the Seventies after many years of service.

However Dick Cheney was NEVER in the Military...even as a Reservist.

He ignored his military service when he was young. Besides, how can someone so heartless ever have a "change of heart"? Maybe he could volunteer to train kids how to shoot people in the face. -RKO-

Two reasons why not. One is that he is too old and the other is that he already retired from the Navy Reserves.
