The Bible is clear that God loves all men, but He hates sin.
There are 17 examples where the words "God" and "Hate" occur in the King James Bible. I could have searched other versions and had similar results.
Not one of those 17 verses says that God hates men, but some do say that God hates sin.
For your conveniece, in the "Know your Source" box below I've listed all 17 of those passages.
In addition here are a few passages that confirm that God loved us even while we still sinners.
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
and
1 Tim 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
and
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
and then there is the most famous verse in the Bible:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
I hope that settles the matter.
Note that I didn't answer you question, I showed you where the Bible answered your question.

PS: In spite of what some "theologians" or "religious people" will tell you the word "world" in John 3:16 means every man, woman and child who has ever been born, not just the group which some claim to be is the "Elect".

Deut. 16:22: You shall not set up a sacred pillar, which the LORD your God hates.
Psalm 5:5: The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.
Psalm 11:5: The LORD tests the righteous,But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
Psalm 21:8: Your hand will find all Your enemies;Your right hand will find those who hate You.
Psalm 45:7: You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.
There are many more references in the OT. What you must understand is that God's form of hatred is pure, while ours is tainted with sin. This isn't a concept we humans can easily grasp, since we link hatred with sin, but God's ways are much higher than ours.
Peace.

Those who sin are opposed to the law of God, for all sin opposes the law of God. And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, for there is no sin in him. So if we continue to live in him, we won't sin either. But those who keep on sinning have never known him or understood who he is.
Dear children, don't let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it is because they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. But when people keep on sinning, it shows they belong to the Devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the Devil. Those who have been born into God's family do not sin, because God's life is in them. So they can't keep on sinning, because they have been born of God. So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the Devil. Anyone who does not obey God's commands and does not love other Christians does not belong to God.
1st John 3:4-10
God does not tolerate sin. He cannot abide in its presence. That is why we need Jesus as an intercessor.

God does not hate at all? You must not read the Bible,
or you must worship a god, and not God Almighty.
Psalm 97:10
Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Romans 9:13
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Malachi 2:2
I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,
3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

God doesn't hate sin. The concept of sin is essentially an invention; when Christianity was starting to become a widely-recognized religion, sins were invented in order to keep the people practicing the religion in line. It isn't God that came up with the idea that adultery or fornication or what have you is wrong -- it's the people who wrote the bible and ran the churches.

daisy322 98,
"why do people keep saying that God hates sin when God does not hate at all?"
Yes, God does hate. The Hebrew word litterally means 'to set against.' The emotion or severity of 'to hate' are given in context of the situation. You can by the Hebrew language, hate that your son is going to a concert when you told him not to. With the same word, you can hate the enemy that wants to kill your family, the emotive context is different while the word stays the same. And God does, in the Bible, say that He has things that He hates.
So whoever told you that He does not hate is wrong, at least by Christian scritpure. God says that He hates, or is 'set against' certain things.
Here's just one example:
Deuteronomy 12:31
You must not worship the LORD your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the LORD hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.

of course God does not hate, however he does not like things some things people are doing. he also does not approve of the worshipping of the fake idols like budda. i cant say if God doesnt hate n e thing but even if he did hate sin, sin is not a person its a thing so it would be ok if he did i would think.

Actualy, yes God hate sin. If you see through out the bible, during Lot time, God hate sin He destroy Sodom &Gomorah. During Noah's time, men become evil, thus God sent the flod for 40 days. Jesus did condemn some people for their sin. In MAtthew 23 he called religious people "hypocrites", children of hell, full of hypocrisy and sin. Jesus climaxed his shermon by saying,"You serpents, you generation of vipers, how shall you escape the damnation of hell??" He then warned that He would say to the wicked,"Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels." (Matt.25:41)
So, that's just one example. There're a lot of time Jesus mentioning about hell, and how God hate sin.
