i'm gonna give u my answer according to where tide stands in my country (a developing country)
i dont know about the other countries but Tide here is positioned as an "affordable" detergant, it comes as the third after Persil and Ariel.
so here, women who go for Tide are trying to save money, not looking for quality.
i would say C class families and below that.

Normally, not I, as tide makes me itch, but I got a great deal on it, so I am taking advantage of it.
This Tide Free works better for me, but I go elsewhere

i only use tide. to place me in a catergory it would be under family, i have 6 children and tide seems to be the best working dtergent around, even better now that they have added downeyfabric softener!
