Ok well my mom is against girls liking eachother (though her brother is gay) and some of my friends thinks its wierd and act different and seem afraid im gonna like them to. My boyfriend accepted it and we are still together. most of my freinds are supportive. how do i get my mom to accept me and my friends to realize that this is who i am and i want them to love me just the same as they did before they found out. i can't help the fact that this is who i am.

So you have a boyfriend as well as girlfriend??? Sounds like you arent really sure about who you are...????? Why do you want to be with both?? Atleast not as the same time I mean!!?!!?!

Maybe take it one person at a time so really see how you feel and make a decision based on that but by being with a guy and girl, you will not know what you truly desire....

People are taught to fit in. They are then afraid that if they accept something different, they no longer fit in themselves.

There is nothing wrong with being gay or bisexual. Just make sure that the guys you get involved with know your sexual interest. If you need a girl in your life too, then you need a guy who will accept that.

Many families historically had the ridiculous view that every person in the family was somehow a representative of the family. This appears to have stemmed from corporations creating this viewpoint. It was not true for corporations and is not true for families either.

Your family sounds pretty supportive. It will just take time for them to get used to the idea.

Take care,
Troy

You have a gay uncle and your friends are worried that it was passed on to you? Sorry but gay isn't genetic. You're telling us that you're a bisexual then? You can't go back to the way things were before. But you can still have healthy relationships with them if they can accept you. Not everyone can do that.

Being who you are does not make you any different from the rest of us your happy that's what's important they have to accept you the way you are, that what real friends and family do.

I accept everyone for who they are inside, although I'll disagree with them from time to time, I still accept them for who they are.
