That is a very interesting question that you pose. I think it could be possible, when dealing in matters like these, anything is possible.

I'd like to hear what you consider to be "absurd stuff" in the Bible. Are you thinking of the visions of Revelation? Some might consider them absurd if they did not have the proper understanding of what they mean. But if this is a test, as you seem to believe it is, why would God do that? What would be the purpose of it ?
Man can exercise free will regardless of the Bible- you yourself have proved that through your skepticism. And why do you assume that only an unintelligent person would put faith in the Bible? There are many highly educated people, both past and present, who were devout followers of God. The apostle Paul himself was a well versed man, yet he became a lowly tent maker to enable himself to become a travelling minister of God.
You skeptics can take credit for nothing, except causing God and His followers considerable consternation. He is not obligated to follow our imperfect human timetable. He has a set time frame of when He will take action to accomplish His purposes. We just have to have faith and wait and see.

Yes, ironic because when a person gives up their skepticism they become a child in love which is the better path to follow. Yet mankind holds on to its skepticism and calls it free will. Do you actually think we give up our will when we accept God? We can't, he hard wired it into us. I have seen those who imagine that we must and they are the ones who follow the anti-christ and hate the world. As it says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world...". We too must.

We are God. So, keeping this in mind, your statements are moot. The whole key to life is "choice"; how we choose to live each moment of each day and what kind of karma we create by doing so. We are not ants in an ant farm with someone burning us with a magnifying glass. Taking responsibility for our actions each and every day and trying to understand the results is the hard part. We created God so we can "be forgiven" and so we can be "absolved" from the negativity we create. Have you heard the statement "forgive them lord, for they know not what they do" ? This is a perfect example of not taking responsibility for our own lives. We don't need a God, we need to understand that we are all connected to each other and to every other living thing. Each time we make a choice it is like throwing a pebble in a pond; the ripples permeate the Universe. We need to create peace. If a God truly exists, he/she/it would want this to be so.

The bible is a guide given to us to live by, not a test. God gave us free will so that we could choose how we want to live. Some choose to live selfishly, some choose to live unselfishly.

God does exist. The only test will be, do we have the Blood of the Lamb applied to the doorpost of our hearts?

That is even more silly than the bible. The truth is it would be no more ironic if he did exist than if he didn't. It's just a matter of faith either way. So just bugger off or die. Kisses Betty

Nice out of the box look at the issue.
If so many people follow a god that has killed billions in floods and plagues... then what are they? To actively follow as sheep?

I think the real question is who is God allowing to rule the world right now... cause if there is a God, wouldn't he care about his creation? Search out the "Why - answering the hardest questions" Awake! at www.watchtower.org
