They probably will only draft men. This draft thing is a farce, don't fall for it, as it will never pass. I have always thought if the positioned an "all women" Division in Iraq and left them to their own devises the problems would be solved in less than thirty days.

The main purpose of a draft is to secure infantry replacements for the US Army, even though draftees eventually serve in other positions, but since women cannot serve as infantrymen, theyre not needed

Anyone under the age of 25 will be drafted. Especially that your 18 you are like a steak dinner to the government. The military always tries to get students when they are graduating.

If Charlie Rangel (D-NY) sumbits a bill. And if its like the one he submitted two years ago. And if he votes for it, he didn't last time. And if it passes. And if the President doesn't veto. Then yes, females 18-42 will be eligible for the draft.

But Pelosi, Hoyer and Biden, crucial support, aren't lining up behind the idea. Looks like you have nothing to worry about.

Yes, it is possible that women and men between the ages of 18 to 39 could be drafted.

Makes people think on how much they are willing to sacrifice when we go to war.

We have 1% of the population currently fighting doing two and three tours while many of their families go on public assistance.

The burden needs to be shared.

No, only the men get drafted. Women can volunteer. That's why when we turn 18 we don't have to go to the post office to sign up for the draft.

I don't think there is even a bill drafted to submit yet. It's way to soon to know if there will be a draft (IMHO there won't be) let alone know what provisions will be in it.

Only if they pass the Equal Rights Amendment. The big reason congress didn't pass it before was the objection that women would have to serve in combat.

Let's hope everyone from 18-42 is included. NO DEFERMENTS, NO EXEMPTIONS, except the disabled and they still may be able to provide in a support role.
