Today at school we found out a student died. he was in a class with me and although we didn't speak i just feel this sasd vibe. i feel this way whenever i hear someone dies that someone i know knew or someone who i saw around that i may have never pesonally known. the reality hits really hard that i'm never too young and it can come at anytime. i think people should think about death more often instead of ignoring it like it can never happen to them

i remember i was so upset when one of my schoolmate's died. she died in a car crash, and this was only a few years ago. even though i didn't know her, i cried for hours. what upset me even more was that, no one seemed to care! everybody continued to do there everyday stuff, no teachers talked about it or anything. a year before, another student died. she was a senior, a very popular one at that. when she died, the whole school was in mourning. this girl, mentioned above, was a freshman when she was killed (along with her mother in a car accident), and no one seemed to mention her. i will never forget how angry that made me feel....
i think everyone should realize that death comes to everyone. it doesn't matter how old you are because people die at any age. it's very sad, but it's a fact of life. everyone should realize that

I'm very sorry about the loss of your classmate.
I hope that you have faith in Easter Sunday, The Resurrection and the life that Jesus has promised for us after death.
Scripture states that there is a reason/time/purpose for us on this earth and we're not meant to understand certain time frames. Although it's natural.
I hope you have faith in God and that perhaps you should talk to a local pastor of a church.
In the Anglican Creed it states ...... I believe in the Resurrection of the Dead and the Life of the World to Come.
I hope this helps.
Yes, I think of my own death and my life with Jesus afterwards.
God gives us 24 hours in a day, and no, we don't know what will happen within those hours.

It's a scary subject that most people would rather ignore. Some religious folk claim they are not afraid of death because they are going to heaven. Many athiests claim they do not fear death because it is Inevitable.

I think it is a natural part of life but is is normal to fear it because it is normal to fear the unknown and death is the biggest unknown there is!

I think most of the sadness we experience at someone elses death has to do with what WE have lost. Or feeling bad about the loss of their loved ones. Maybe a sadness at the lack of potential realized if the person who died was young, but little thought about the dead individual.

After a period of mourning, we get on with our life and the sadness diminishes , but the dead person is still just as dead as ever!

Just my observations..

Well yeah you are right. It's a shame that it usually takes a death to make us appreciate life. That is why I always try to be happy no matter what, If I don't like a job, I quit. If I don't want to do something I just don't...life really is too short. I am sorry about this student but I wouldn't dwell on the sadness for too long, we are here to live.

well, the only thing you HAVE to do in life is die. we all start dying the second we are born...i have realized that everyone dies...no one can live to be 300 years old. just try to make each day a great day. don't forget to tell people that you love them cuz it might be your last chance. i really don't think about death too much because i don't feel like i need to consume all of my thoughts on it.

I think people should not think about death, unless it's for creating a will or being aware that life is short and time is precious. Other than that, since it's unavoidable and there's nothing you can do about it, why dwell on it?
