"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS" what do you think will happen when I do this? Do you think I will offend people or not? As far as I am concerned, I really don't care. Do you think that the city will make me take it down because I may offend people? Would like your thoughts on this one! Thanks...

Good for you!!! I have a feeling you will probably offend some people on here too, and maybe even get reported, but who cares when you are standing up for our Lord and Saviour!!! I agree with you 100%! As far as the city making you take it down, I really don't think they would take it that far, but I guess you never know. I would still go for it!

Well, it's your window so I can't imagine that the city would make you remove it. I would however question your motives for putting up such a sign, after all it's not like Jesus would be reading it, and people already know that christmas is in celebration of his birth. It's already in the name of the holiday. Unless Jesus is a friend of yours who happens to live across the street and was born on Dec 24th... somehow I don't think that's the case here.
As an agnostic (and a firm non-believer when it comes to Jesus) I wouldn't be offended by your sign either way. I might roll my eyes a little, but then that's my right too.

I think it's beautiful and you should display it. Hope you don't have any ACLU lawyers nearby though! And for all those who want to keep Christ alive in CHRISTmas this year:

Wanna have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD!

As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world.

Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it.

Here's the Address, just don't be rude or crude.
(It's Not the Christian Way, ya know?)

ACLU
125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York, NY 10004

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions.. So spend 39 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a Holiday Tree. . . . It's a Christmas Tree!

If it's inside your window, the city has no right to make you take it down. And yes, I'm sure you will offend some people with it but you know what? They can go f*ck themselves. Not to sound corny and trite, but Jesus IS the reason for the season.

Merry Christmas!

It is your property, no I do not see how the city can make you remove it. Some people may get offended, not everyone celebrates Christmas, and I don't mean just atheists, think about jewish people.

"Christmas" It means a mass is given to the Christ in celebration of His birth. The Christ was more likely born in June or July but some time ago the leading denomination of Christianity chose the twenty fifth of December to mark the arrival of the Christs salvation. It is assumed that the early church fathers took local holidays of pagan worship and stamped our own beliefs on them to assist the conversion of other people. The Roman holiday of Saturnalia was one of them. It marked the winter solstice and was celebrated with the trading of gifts.
These past few decades have brought a degradation of this religious celebration and society has brought in a host of politically correct means of celebrating this mass.None of them are in remembrance of Christ's first coming. There is no santa clause, rudolph is more fit for a dinner of venison than he is for flying, happy holidays, seasons greetings, and merry xmas, are some of the wording that is used in order not to offend the overly sensitive minorities.
If you want to place a birthday card for the Christ in your own home and window? You go right ahead. The state has no right to order otherwise. The public has no right to demand otherwise. It is your home. It is your good wishes for the Christ. The fearful and the sensitive will just have to look the other way or go cry amongst them selves. Christmas is a Holy celebration and no one has the right to deny the Christians their right to celebrate His birth in any manner.

The only people who could possibly be offended by you exercising YOUR rights to free speech are those who don't understand the concept of tolerance, understanding, and freedom. When/If they complain, simply tell them that they have the right to shop/go elsewhere or to put up their OWN sign in their OWN window. I doubt you'll really lose too much.

It's your window and this is a free country, at least it is supposed to be. If some people don't like it I guess they can stay away until you take it down or ignore it. Myself I think its a really nice thing to do. Maybe your church will put one up to.

doesn't bother me, so long as you don't mind my ten foot tall portrait of the grinch I'll be putting up!

Also, technically Jesus was born in the spring, like april or may-ish. There's been alsorts of research done to show that , according to where the stars were in the sky, he was born in the spring time. It was the Romans who decided to intertwine jesus' birthday with a pagan holiday, hence why we use christmas trees in our celebrations and celebrate in december.

Isn't Jesus dead, then?

You might get your windows smashed, or verbally abused on the streets, but apart from that I don't imagine it will have any impact whatsoever!
