I am 40 years old and very ill (possibly wheelchair ridden in the near future) and I have a dillema. I just started dating a guy (been out 2 times) who is really nice and we have tons in common. My family says I should wait to tell him just how sick I am but I think I should tell him BEFORE feeling get too deep. What do you think?

I'm so sorry, i hope you'll be ok. I have never been there so it's hard to say but I think you should tell him soon. Not only can you end up with a broken heart but if he's not gonna stand by you then your missing the chance to find someone who will. Life is short as you may be finding out so there's no time for games. Be honest!

I'd want to know if the guy I was dating was going to get possibly wheelchair ridden in a short period of time. That way I have a choice to continue or not. If I cared for them I wouldn't let it deter me but I have a right to know if you know.

Do you forsee the possibility of marriage?? He should know now before you get your heart any more involved. If this is just a casual outing or two, I don't know that it matters. But why would you try to hide it?? In my world, there is no dating unless it leads to marriage, so I would have to say he deserves to know.

I would wait to see what happens before you tell him. No reason to go all out until you see how the relationship develops. I have MS and I found out while my fiance' and I were dating. It didn't change anything b/c we really loved each other.

I think you should tell because if you dont you cant be being completely honest in your relationship with him. Without honesty no relationship has a chance.
