My hair is so messed up. I got it dyed, highlighted, and permed all in one day, on top of a another perm, and about 4 years of continuous dying. I have used everything from walmart almost, and I just started using Pantene Restoratives, and a Fermydol protein treatment. My hair is breaking off at the ends and looks horrible. I need SERIOUS HELP! Please tell me if you have any answers for me.

First of all, you are never going to solve anything by using crappy products. Stop shopping for your products at walmart and the grocery store. You need to be using professional products. Go to a local salon and ask for a consultation on what kind of products you need. This is free advice, if they want to charge you for a consultation, go somewhere else!

Anyway, tell the stylist what is happening (the breakage), tell them what you have done to your hair (color, perms, highlights), and ask what they think you should use.

When I was going through a time in my life where my hair just seemed over processed, broken, and hopeless, I started using Redken Extreme shampoo and conditioner, and it really helped me. (See here: http://www.redken.com/products/displayBrand.cfm?b=263 )

Another amazing product is Matrix Essentials Instacure Leave-In Treatment. It actually repairs the damage you have done to your hair by replenishing the amino acids your hair needs and is now lacking. Spray this product on wet clean hair and comb through. Style as usual. Use it every time you shampoo and you will see a huge difference in the health of your hair. (see here: http://www.matrix.com/products/matrix_essentials/instacure.aspx )

Good Luck!

either get a hair masque, or a REALLY thick conditioner. leave it in for about 10 minutes. then rinse.

dont every process your hair that much in one day. you're supposed to wait about 2 weeks between chemical processes. you're lucky you didnt burn your scalp.

for now, do the conditioner thing, then go get a trim. all the ends are probably beyond fried and need to be cut off (they will become split ends shortly)

you can also try a hot oil treatment (sometimes hard to find tho), but the conditioning masque works great. i do this once a week. i've been dying/hightling/perming my hair since i was 13 (so thats over 11 years now) and the worst i get is some split ends (and thats only cause i never get it cut unless its REALLY bad)

good luck!! (my favorite conditioner to use is l'oreal in the bright orange bottle- its super thick)

For one...you just need to leave your hair alone. you have done so much damage to it....you just need to let it rest. The best thing that you can do is cut off as much of the damaged ends as you can, you need to stop the breakage and the best way to do that is to cut it. After that, I would deep condition at least twice a month, and do not curl, straighten, blow dry, or put any product in it for a long time!

You need Aphogee. This stuff stinks but it works. You can get it at any beauty supply store. I used it after the stylist accidentally used super strength relazer on my hair. Use it once a week and keep heat off of your hair. You may need to wear a wet set for awhile.

Good luck!
