In a society where divorce is so common, why do people bother? Do you want to get divorced? Do you plan on it?? Do you take steps to prevent it?? How can you do "til death do us part" then quit a short while later?? I ask because I wonder how much thought people put into this, or do they just marry based on "feelings"??

This is a very good question. I wonder the same thing. But it's like asking in this age of HIV/AIDS why are people still having unprotected sex? It just is. We never think the consequences will happen to us.We are all changing and growing on a daily basis in different directions and at different paces. How then can two people suited for eachother today, be suited for eachother for the rest of their lives? And the divorce rate is extremely high. I do agree that many people get married off of "feelings" and that's all one could really do, since none of us can predict the future.

i do think that human nature is a little bit insecure, so that\'s way we need marriage, some papers, to give us the safety
