Care about her. When she says something, remember it, and say it suddenly back some day. make small offers to help in anything, but don't be available all the time.
If she says xyz is not well, next time you meet, ask, how is xyz? If she collects stamps, get her a rare one. Get the idea?
Don't suck up to her, but pay her a genuine compliment whenever you like something she does.
Honesty, chivalry, and genuine caring will get you close to anyone you want.

I don't know how old you are sweetie,but if your mouth stinks ,brush baby! brush your tounge,brush your roof of your mouth,brush behind your wizdom teeth,bacteria grows behind there and tends to leave a strong oder if you dont catch it,Brush up and around your gums,and then rinse with a mouth wash.
I don't know if that has any factor as to why you can't get closer to a girl,but I do know from my experience,that when I was back in high school and a guy tried to get close to me ,and his mouth stank...I tried to use every excuse in the world as to why I had to back away. Women do not like to kiss a stinky mouth.
But if that's not your case,just forget what I said,and try to loosen up and do something special to a girl that you have in mind.
