how about tiger or rascal or simba
all very odd names but tiger for a small dog is ironic and cute; simba because of lion king since he can't defend himself he is a pup; and rascal because well a pup like to play

Honestly, I don't like any of those names. How about something more unique - here's a good one:
Koki (pronounced "cokey") - it means "snub-nosed" in Hawaiian. Those dogs do have snub-noses! Go with its strength!
