I have seen some herbal products does't have quality mark provided by the gov so this means its quality can't be measured.but i hav listened that herbal products are good for health.so tell me is there any need of quality mark in herbal products.Is herbal written on pack itself is a quality mark.

The occasional misidentification of herbs can result in improper use and potential safety issues. As part of its educational mission to promote responsible use of medicinal plants, the American Botanical Council (ABC) announced in its newest publication, a crucial quality control manual for herb and dietary supplement companies. The Identification of Medicinal Plants: A Handbook of the Morphology of Botanicals in Commerce focuses on the straightforward visual, macroscopic (examination under hand lens or dissecting microscope) identification of more than 150 species of botanicals used in commercial herbal products in North America.
In India we are lacking such technical supports and forced to believe that all herbal products approved by the Drugs Controller General of India are of good qualities even if the truth is a bit bitter!!
Not only herbal products but other medicinal preparations are also having same limitations.The fact is that we all are living under a threat!!

The words herbal written on the pack is not a quality mark. There are certain criteria to use the world herbal
