I thaw frozen meat in a sink full of hot water. Keep it in the package.
It doesn't really take that long, and it the meat tastes better thawed that way.

We buy a large quantity of ground beef, and make it into hamburger patties. When we want a burger, all we have to do is pop it in the microwave on the thaw cycle, and in about five minutes we can fry it in the pan. I'm not sure how long your microwave takes to thaw something that is frozen, but if you have an instruction book that came with it, it will be in there as to how to do it. If you don't then you will have to do a trial and error thing until you get it right. We pack the burger in individual wax paper wrappings, and put it inside a zip lock bag, and this way it doesn't get a freezer taste to it. It will last a long time before it goes bad. You can also thaw it in the wax paper too.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!!!

I thaw ground beef on a regular basis in my microwave. I set the microwave to power 3 low and microwave 10 minutes per pound rotating every 3 minutes or two.

Yes you can thaw frozen ground beef in a microwave. I do it all the time. If you have a defrost auto button that is the best to use.

Beware not to leave the meat in too long. It will start to cook in the package. And if you want scrambled ground beef for Sloppy Joes, tacos, or the like, this cooked-edge will make the meat more difficult to use. I suggest thawing it a little, try breaking it up a bit, thawing it some more, breaking that up, if you can, and so on.

thawing anything in the microwave will not change the taste. Just remember to check it often and remove the thawed area otherwise the outside will start to cook while the inside is just getting thawed.

Of course. Just hit defrost. I don't find the flavor or texture any different. But that's if it's going to be browned in a pan. If it's going to be for meatballs or meatloaf, then I'd either buy fresh or thaw the frozen in the fridge.

Yes. like I am Legend said use the defrost feature but when it stops and says break apart you have to use your hands and just pull it apart or else it will cook on the outside and you want it thawed evenly I assume.

Yes, use the low power setting.
Newer microwaves have a defrost setting that will work. Some even allow you to input the weight and automatically set the time.
