I am inclined to say work and save. The credit counseling people may help, of course. Once a credit score is either knackered or skinned outright creditors can be scared off.
Funny, credit cards and sometimes car loans are the places people can get credit, but the interest is killer.

If you have outstanding debts and/or County Court Judgements (CCJ's) that are not satisfied you will not be able to repair your credit rating. You can check your credit history by contacting the main Credit Reference Agencies such as Experian and requesting a copy of your history, the cost is £2.00. If, on checking your history, you notice that 1 or more of the entries are incorrect you can attach a note explaining the mistake. You cannot remove information, or attach a note if the entry is correct. If you are seeking further credit some lenders do not check credit history, however the downside of this is that you will end up paying back the loan at greatly inflated interest rates. For further information he Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) produce a very useful booklet, "No Credit". Check out the DTI website: dti.gov.uk or you can obtain a copy at your local Citizens Advice Bureau. Good luck with your studies.

sometimes your credit scoring can be bad because you never had credit before, I would check with your own bank first, also there are websites you can go on that will lend money to people with bad credit (but they charge a higher interest rate), capital one help by lending low amounts to start with so you can build your credit up so you could try them, good luck

Not a lot if you owe money or have a bad payment record. If this is not the case go on line and join Equifax. They will have a record of all your financil dealings and if there are errors they will help you clear your name. I use them to check my accounts against fraud and they are marvellous. You can do a one off search for about £2 or a monthly membership for a fiver. Hope this helps.
