My wife and I are really at our wits end. We had a baby six months ago. We were working on paying the hospital bill every month. We have gotten behind on the payments and the hospital has informed us that they are going to re posess our son because of over due bills.

I'm not sure which state you are in as the laws are different in every state, but I am positive that they can not take your child. They may be able to take you to court and garnish your wages, but they can not take your child. That is just the bill collectors way of scaring the you know what out of you and it sounds like it worked.

Ask them if they will wait until he is about 13 or 14 and knows everything and thinks you two are idiots and you can't control him. Then they can have him back for non payment of a bill.....

You cant be serious, can you?

I think they repossessed you brain.

If someone said that, and you are seriously worried about it, there is a set of laws called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act FDCPA. and you can find it here: http://www.expert-credit-advice.com/debt_collection_laws.htm

Wow I really hope you are joking!! If I were you I'd sue them for emotional damage. How screwed up is that? And as for an answer ummm... no they cannot re-posses your child. That is absolutely ridiculous!

That is pretty funny! Next time, ask them what time they will be by so you can have him packed and ready to go - that should throw the bill collector for a loop.........

No, they are being crazy. If you are having trouble, sent them $5.00 a month. As long as you send them something they can't do you anything.
