In the State of Washington, (I don't know about your particular area), it is required that you either have a CDL license, or you take an EVOC course.

In Tennessee it is still required through state and our insurance company that you sit through this really long and boring class, even if you have your CDL's. There are many on our dept that do the same as you and still had to take the course. At least the last half of the course is driving and making fun of the others on your dept. for hitting so many cones.

Depends upon your job requirements. As a PO I had to take whatever qualifications were required by my department.
