As long as Christianity, as well as several of the other "ultimate truths", have as their end and gleefully sought after goal, the END OF THE WORLD, and as long as they believe that their rights are being violated if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat, they will have to put up with us being in their face. Why should we abandon a forum where we can let them know that they will not be allowed to carry out the silly "End Times" rubbish that they seem to forget would include the rest of us.

I don't think that anyone has said that you cannot do that.

I'd advise against making it personal, though.

Some folks use this forum in order to find out more about religions that they don't belong to, or to ask for religious advice, or explore the history of religions, or to dispel misinformation about the religion that they DO follow - heck, I imagine that we're each here for reasons not entirely the same as our fellows.

And some, as you may have noticed, use this as a place to evangelize, or to criticize.

So, to answer your question, the "point" of this forum is whatever we each think it is, within the guidelines for use.

I thought it was to ask questions...not criticize.

There are tons of forums for criticizing, why would you do it with a questions forum? What would be the point of it?

People are scared to criticize any religion, I think this forum is about opinions and brings people together and talking wether it be criticizing or praising

This is not a forum to chat on. It's for serious questions and answers. Those question must be about religion or spirituality only. It's so easy, even a caveman can do it.

I think that you should have the right to criticize religion. That is part of any free debate. Otherwise, don't have a forum.

Because this is called Yahoo ANSWERS, not yahoo rip shreds out of something you don't even believe in. I think you must be a very lonely person, with nothing better to do than sit here and challenge religion, otherwise you would be out with some ACTUAL friends. Get a grip

Critcism is acceptable as long as it is presented with respect and honest observations or points. Make your point but do not insult anyone. So that this forum could become a school of thoughts.

No silly question !! Here is a general site not a specialised one. If you want to express your point of view on that subject go to specialised sites where you will have answers
Btw criticism is not constructive if its just to criticise without being able to justify your position......just a waste of time for all of us !

To ask questions. This is not YAHOO! Criticism

It's ok to question someone's beliefs, but as a person, you should try to do it politely. There are perfectly acceptable ways to do this without ticking people off. Upsetting people is not a good way to get them to listen to your point of view. Rudeness is just unacceptable in a civilized discussion.
