I have no idea what to make of "The Yellow Cow" by Franz Marc. I only have knowledge of what the colors in this painting stand for (yellow being feminine and blue being masculine, as to what the Expressionist movement explains) but even then, I don't know if there are any other details I have to go into. I also have no idea what style could this be considered as. As many of you know, some paintings simply don't have an explanation, but I'm curious as whether this one merely follows the patterns of German Expressionism by showing color to symbolize or it means something more... If anyone help me with this subject, I would greatly appreciate it.
This is the link to the picture, just in case any of you are curious

check out fauvism his work also fits into that category many art isms had a statement issued by the founders of that ism about why they painted the way they painted. Lost of artists however just paint without to many overtones of philosophy there are far too many people trying to read things into art that were never really there in the first place the only sure way to know would be to read a journal by the artist to get the real reasons by cows are yellow thanks for looking into things like that it makes those of us who paint feel worthwhile and opens your eyes to other works
