All the ingredients in the Easy Bake oven mixes are made with or near peanuts and my daughter has a peanut allergy. She really wants an oven, can I use real cake mixes and cookie mixes as a substitute? Do we have to mix it differently?

I used to have one WAY back in the day...God, I feel old *lol*
But my sister and I used to use reg cake mix in it all the time *it's much cheaper that the kits* I cant believe the oven is any different from then so I would assume it's okay, but for peace of mind you may want to call their hotline.

I have OFFICIALLY done it and i can say that it was DELICIOUS!!!! Just follow the instructions (to make a cake, not a cookie) which is to lightly mist a microwaveable cup with non stick cooking spray, pour the mix, add 3 teaspoons of water, stir. Microwave it for first 30 seconds, then 15, then another 15 (maybe if you would like, 12 or 11 seconds & the key is to open the door for a couple of seconds then type in the next number). The cake is done when you push your nail in and there's no cake on it. I must warn you though, if you leave it or take your time eating it, it gets a bit tough. But doesn't lose its yummy taste!

If I remember correctly from when I had my Easy Bake Oven, I used the Jiffy mixes from the grocery story. The boxes are small and had just the right amount for what I needed!

I had an easy bake when i was younger. We used regular cake mix all the time because it was cheaper than the easy bake brand.

I have no idea. Is there a customer service number on the side of the box it came in that you call? They should be able to tell you.
