She is form Cavo Verde and in most songs she sings on portuguese, but also uses words of the local dialect, which I dont know how it is called, but I think Kriolu

Crioulo, which is a blend of Portuguese and West African words. She's from Cape Verde, which was a Portuguese colony until last century.

Currently she is singing her latest album in Xhosa , which is a south african language. But she sung in portuguese in the past.
