Here's a very "in general" answer as far as most insurance is concerned. Automatically considered an insured under the policy are you, your spouse, and resident relatives of the household. Also, anyone who drives your vehicle with your permission is considered an insured under the policy. If you have a person who will be a regular user, you should put him/her on your policy. If he/she has an accident and is not on the policy, the insurance will find out and add the person to the policy after the claim is handled anyway.

States vary with regard to handling of these situations, and policy contracts can differ, but this is the way it works. Sometimes people endorse the policy to specifically exclude coverage for someone, and if that person drives and has an accident there will be no coverage for anything. However, what I've indicated above is how insurance works.

I think it depends on the details of your policy. In my case anyone driving my vehicle with my permission is covered. Conversely, I am covered for any vehicle I operate. But youv'e got to read the fine print.

If they are driving your vehicle with your permission, and are at fault, it will be YOUR insurance that will pay for any damages. Remember that insurance goes with the vehicle, not with the driver.

The car is insured not the driver driving it, Of coarse it depends on if you have collision on the car.
