As far as I know he directly went to Heaven, so obviously his remains are not there, right? So is it just a memorial place, or does it have a special significance?

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) died in his house in Madinah and is buried in the Madinah Masjid. his spirit is in heaven. but deid a natural death.

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuhs) Tomb is in there mosque in Madinah Saudi Arabia.It hold special significance because people all around the world visit and offer prayers.Many a peoples wishes have been granted.Lucky are those who have been able to be so close to our beloved.God willing one day i will get to be there to.

Al Masjid al Nabawi ( المسجد النبوي) There is a big Mosque in the place where his tomb is. Actually The Prophet's Mosque is the second holiest mosque in the world . It's located in Madinah, KSA

and who told u that he is in heaven now???
he is similar to all humans,,, still there,,
but muslems believes that the tomb will be peace of heaven for the good people,,, i think thats all

I think your getting things mixed up....because the Prophet(peace be upon him)was taken to the heavens but he didnt stay there he died in his house I think.

His bones are still there. The only one to defeat death Hell, and the grave is Jesus Christ, and is coming back very soon for those of us who have His gift of salvation. You too can have this wonderful gift. Email me if you want more info.

There are no bones in Jesus' grave.
He is alive.
