An attitude of thankfulness.

I know that sounds strange. I had a wonderful wife who was not young enough, pretty enough, & had the gall to not cater to my every whim. My kids were supposed to be obedient & smarter - but not smarter than the old man, God forbid. My selfishness drove them away. I had all the answers.Everything I ever wanted & got, I didn't want any more because it was not good enough. I was always irritable, miserable & discontented. My luck was always bad & it was all your fault. I was an egomaniac with an inferiority complex; deep inside, I could not stand myself Something had to change.

Does it sound strange that I'm grateful for all the misery? It pushed me to try something better. If I don't expect good stuff, when it happens it is a pleasant surprise. My eyes are bad & don't breathe so well either; Well, I am not blind & I chose to smoke for 45 years. Get over it, bob. When I can admit I may be wrong, I can learn. I have friends because I can finally be a friend, even to myself. I sorts feel I am worth it.It is OK to be bob, even with all my "little "insanities. I am usually content with peace of mind. I can have no greater gift.

i'm most thankful for being who i am, living in the conditions that i live in (excellent), having the friends and family that i do, the education that i have.... all that kind of thing. a lot of people are starving and homeless, so i guess i'm pretty thankful for all that. but on the more material side, i'm really thankful for my louis vuitton gear, my gucci shoes and my sexy hubby and being blessed at the bust.
