Is The Litter Box Clean?

This is so funny! My beloved cat who passed away used to do the same thing. I think he was so clean that he didn't want to dirty his paws to cover it up. He would balance his legs on the sides of the litter box to avoid putting his feet in the litter. But my other cat whom I still have is the "potty monitor". He used to watch for the other cat to do this in the litter box and then run after him and try to beat him up. LOL.

My cat started doing this when he was old and his litter box was hard to get to. Is the litter box in a good place? As well, sometimes I think cats might do this because they are upset. Has there been a change to your cat's routine lately? If it's neither of these issues, take your cat to a vet to get him checked out. Good luck!

your cat may not like the litter you are using. I used the feline pine brand and my two cats would do their business and jump out. also do you have a covered or non covered litter box? try a different litter and if that doesnt work call your Vet

try using the scoopable cat litter or change the cat litter that you areusing or u might want to scoop it more often, some cats just get this way or even use a bit more kitty litter.

My ex-roomate's cat did this because 1. She was lazy and wouldn't clean the box, and 2. He was declawed and couldn't get sorted through the poop.

Change your brand of kitty litter, does the litter hurt it's paws, some of the new brands do.
