The office of vital statistics in your state's capitol city. You will have to provide identification , probably at least 2-3 different things such as driver's license, social security card etc. There is a small fee.

I made one phone call to Baton Rouge, Louisiana bureau of vital statistics, they asked me to fax those things and then I gave them a credit card number so they could fed-ex my birth certificate. I had it in 4-5 days.

Sorry, but due to the high amount if identity theft,no such thing as free. You must go in person to your local Metroploitan Department of Health and Vital Statistics to request a COPY of the birth certificate. You will have to pay somewhere between $10.00- $20.00 per copy. and bring some ID. If your daughter is a minor, her shot records can be proof enough, they can also look that up. Good luck.

I am sorry, but nothing in this life is free. I would start at either the county courthouse, health department, or library if you happen to still live in the same state that you were born in. Otherwise contact the state's Dept. of Vital Statistics.

Where I live we can go to health department, fill out a form, give them the money, & we get our birth & death certificates the same day.

You can try your local superior court or county court. You can ask for the clerk in charge of birth records. If you live in a different county than where you were born, you might have to contact the court for the town or county you were born in. Again, your local court would still be able to help you out with this.

Unfortunately, I don't believe your birth certificate will be free.

Check with your state department of health & human hygiene. In MD they charge about $7 for a certified copy. I don't know if they are free in your state or not.

your birth certificate should be with you since birth, or at least with your parents. if you want a free copy of it, get it from them, or you can ransack your whole house for it...

I do not think there are any places anymore that are free.
You will have to contact the city you were born in and check but they are all going to cost you something

I'm pretty sure you have to pay the office of vital statistics in your state. What's a few bucks anyway?
