Chahalem Pinot Noir. Another Willamette valley product. Pinots are a very fickle varietal and require just the right climate to produce a full flavored wine with the lighter body characteristics of a Pinot Noir. Willamette valley Oregon produces some of the best year after year.

A great Pinot Noir to enjoy would be from the Santa Lucia Highlands in California. Lucia Pinot Noir. It has one of the most excellent conditions for this type of varietal grape.

Longoria 2004 Fe Ciega Pinot Noir is excellent.
David Bynam also makes great Pinots.

Best buys would be Brancott Pinot Noir (New Zealand) and Concannon (Livermore, CA).

Gallo makes a nice vintage Pinot Noir, Sutton Hills or even a nice low price French.

But may I make a suggestion, have you ever tried a nice white zinfendel, it gives you the red wine flavour without the overpowering after taste, or even consider a Zinfendel or French , the current crop of Noveaux 's are very nice light drinking reds.

Flowers Pinot around 35-40 is awesome and well balanced. A new one in the past few years is Ambullneo Vineyards around 70 - 80 and has been getting high reviews. Hyde Vineyards is always reliable.

"Van Duzer willamette valley 2004" or "Penner-Ash willamette valley 2004". Both are excellent. The Van Duzer runs about $25, while the Penner-Ash is about $45. I would buy the Van Duzer. It's quality vs. cost is exceptional.
