Right click on your desktop and go to New... and then click Shortcut.
A small window will open. Paste (or type) http://www.yahoo.com/ in the box. Then click Next. Now, type a name (like Yahoo!) so you know what the shortcut is for. Click Finish.
You can do this for any website you want, you just have to put the correct url (like if you wanted to have a shortcut to Yahoo! Answers, you would put http://answers.yahoo.com/ in the location section).
Good luck! Add more info if this doesn't work for you.

On your desktop, in a empty space where there is no icons, left click to bring the menu and select "new" than "shortcut". In the shortcut menu it will ask for a destinition. This is where the shortcut leads to, you could put a file such as "C:\..." or a website like http://www.yahoo.com, make sure you put the whole thing from the http to the .com in. Then you can keep the defult icon, or change it to what ever you want.

Lots of ways. One is to go to Start, All Programs, select Yahoo and right click. There you will have option to create shortcut. Then drag it where you want it. Also, you can set your homepage to Yahoo. At top of this page click Tools, Internet Options and on the first part of menu type in the home page box: www.yahoo.com. Then you will go there when you first connect to the internet.

You may want to try this, it worked for me anyway. Open up My Computer, right click on your hard drive, (usually your drive will be shown as C:). Then click on Explore. Look for your Program Files folder, right click on this. Now what you're looking for is your folder marked Yahoo!. Right click on it and then click on Explore. Find the program you want then just drag it onto your Desktop. (hold left mouse button down while dragging). Hope this helped you out, I know how frustrating this can be. It happened to me. Have a good day, Mel
