Hi. It sounds like a disease that usually affects children although adults could suffer from it (cradle cap) To get rid of it within a week stay away from all shampoo's etc rinse head twice daily with salt water do not dry with hair dryer leave to dry on its own. Once the rash has subsided use Elizabeth Anns baby shampoo. Hope it works for you.

Some one stated that it is a fungus infection, and they would be right.
There are many things that you can do, keep your hair short, the fungus likes heat and damp.
DON'T scrape the fungus off, this will only make you sore.
Go to the DR's or get some over the counter hair treatment until it is gone.
Don't scratch it.
Don't use perfumed shampoo on your hair.
Avoide stressful situations if you can.

I have psoriasis on my scalp and this sounds exactly the same. You need to go to your doctor though because some fungal infectins look the same.
Mine is kept at bay with alphosil shampoo (you can also bu this at a chemist for about £6) with occasional creams if it gets bad.
