A mother was kicked off a Delta Flight for breastfeeding her baby and not covering up.
Do you think they should of kicked her off?
Was she in the wrong?
What do you think?

I am a breast feeding mother my self and I was shocked but not supprized by this. I do not think she should of been kicked off. Now my self when I feed in public (wich is very rarely) I try to be very discreate about it.

There is a federal law protecting a mothers right to breastfeed. I feel that it is immature people like this that make the breastfeeding rate so low in this country. It is what is best for the baby. A baby! But people in the United States don't want theres sexual thoughts of breasts to be skewed and because of this many, many babies do not obtain the numerous health benefits of breastfeeding. (Yes I know there are many other reasons women don't breastfeed but I do not sympathize with the ones that don't do it because the view there breasts as sexual objects and because it is uncomfortable at first - get over it your a mom now -baby comes first)
I am a breastfeeding mom and I think it is the most beautiful thing.
But, before, I had felt uncomfortable around a breastfeeding mom who was not being discreet (in another country). However, I don't think I would have ever felt this way if more women just breastfed there babies and made it the norm.
I know there are many "healthy" formula fed babies - but what about the long term effect - and why wouldn't you want your child to live the healthiest, most comfortable life possible? What makes people think that what formula companies made can adequately replace what God has equipped us with?
I did want to add that I am discrete when I feed my baby but I wish society was to the point where I felt comfortable breastfeeding my baby without being discrete.

It depends, did they ask her to cover up? If they asked her to cover and she refused, then yes, she should have been kicked off. I understand it is a natural process, but some people (including myself) do not believe in the practice and I wouldn't expect my one year child and myself to have to watch that. I can't imagine the questions my daughter would have, and I don't feel she needs to learn about them at her tender age. I believe each women has a choice and maybe it's right for some women, but in the same sense, it's a women's right not to have to watch and have their children exposed to it.

Thank you for being a caring mother to other people's children and being discreate about your breast feedings. It's nice to have women to respect all others like you!

You know, it's hard to answer that, without actually having being ON that flight to know what really happened. Was she being discreate or not? Maybe other children were uncomfortable and complained to their parents, etc. The airplane is a private company, they can do what they want. Next time, she can choose a different airline. She shouldn't win any money for that, that's insanity.

I too breast fed my children, It is a nature thing to do. However, like you I used discretion. I don't think women need to whoop it out to feed their baby, a blanket over the shoulder to hide what should be private is fine to me. I wouldn't whoop it out if I wasn't breast feeding so why would I whoop it out if I was. As far as getting kicked off the plane, well I think she should have been asked to cover up and if she refused then she was being disrespectful and probably got what she deserved.. Everyone has the right to do as they please as long as it is not at the expense of others.. In a nut shell, I believe it is fine to nurse your child anywhere as long as it doesn't offend others... have a nice day.

Breastfeeding in the U.S. is not as common as in other countries. She might not have covered up or any number of reasons. There are laws that protect breastfeeding mothers and she should look into them.
She was not wrong and should not have been kicked off the plane. Public nursing, if done correctly, no one will know it is being done.
I never nursed in public with my first child. However, as my expertise grew, I did nurse my other 2 children in public. Often times people asked me why I kept my children covered as they thought they were just sleeping. I also discovered Motherhood Maternity with the other 2 boys...Nursing clothes are wonderful!!

That is insane, and its also against the law in most states, not sure what the law is in the air. I bet Delta gets sued big time, and they should. Mothers can bottle feed why not breast feed? Stupid stupid stupid. I will say this. I will NEVER fly Delta again
