Question for you all...how many of you have relatives who always turn the holidays into a pain in the a$$ for one reason or another? It never fails...usually it's my sister who has to ruin everything for everyone...it's always her way or no way and when it's not her way...she ruins things..usually by not showing up and ALWAYS by making sure she's dragged everyone into the scene too...thus making sure she's left no happy stone unturned...*sigh*...who's your pain in the butt?

There used to be many but I have taken back the holiday as a day to enjoy and reflect on how grateful I am for everything that has happened that is good. When you look at how much pain there is in this world the last thing I want to inflict on my family is drama. People spreading there own unhappiness like a plague is not for me. We usually spend holidays in a restaurant where we can all enjoy each others company have no mess to clean up and go home and relax.

My older sister is not a pain, but has a tendency to try to be in control of everything. My family can never make up their minds when they want to get together for x-mas dinner, so a couple of years ago at the Thanksgiving get together I said that I wanted to know when we were going to get together for x-mas and wanted to know before we left my parents that day if possible. After I left the room for a few minutes, my wife who was sitting just in the other room heard my sister say to my mom. "Just who does he think he is". My sister doesn't know that I know, but if she gets cockie about it anytime in the future I am going to throw it up in her face and see how much I can embarrass her. It's only fare.

Well, my mom's side of the family hates my dad's side of the family so we all can't come together for the holidays. My mom's side of the family is arguing about who's house Thanksgiving is going to be at and who's house Christmas is going to be at. My dad's side is doing the same thing. So, for Thanksgiving my dad and I are going to serve food or something at a shelter. For Christmas I know I will be with my dad because I live with him and we are going to my mom's to visit then to my grandma's(his mom) for dinner. Hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

Both my sisters in law are weird - they seek total control and both of them like to be dependent on my husband. Fortunately, he's no longer talking to his older sister - but the younger one is now seeking all his attention. I find it gross and sad.
