Rule of thumb is one hour for every four pounds...so if you have a 25 pond bird, you'd cook it for 5 to 6 hours, at 325 degrees. But my advice is to get one of those little pop-up thermometers at the store (like the little red tip pop-up that is in some frozen turkeys) Insert the pop-up thermometer at an angle about 3-inches down from the neck cavity and 2-inches from the breast bone, in the thickest part of the breast. When "it" pops up, turkey is done. Enjoy. Happy Thanksgiving! ;)

To calculate it easily, you take the weight of the turkey and divide it by 4.

So, for a 25lb turkey you'll need to cook it for at least 6 hours.

Simple either buy a meat thermometer (Recommended) and plunge the thermometer into the fat part of the leg meat. 170 to 180 gegrees is what your looking for Bud. Or when the ovens hot and the bird goes in time it for 5 hours. Why 5 hours = 20 minutes per pound x 25lbs = 5 hours

I was reading on a site just yesterday to find out how to cook my turkey and they said it is unsafe to cook a turkey over 20lbs and if you need to have more than 20lbs then they recommend cooking 2 turkeys. Just giving you a little info on the subject. Also, they said that it is unsafe to cook a turkey under 325 degrees as for how long I don't know but it isn't hard to look up on the net.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

it is true 1 hour for every 3 to 4 pounds. Unless frying a turkey then it is 3 minutes per pound.

Unless you are feeding 20+ people you do not need a 25 lb turkey better off getting a 12-15 lb turkey and a decent size turkey breast los of people eat nothing but breast meat.

Preheat oven to 325
Clean, dry, butter and sage the turkey.
I add a roughly chopped onion and green apple to the inside cavity, which really helps keep the bird moist, and flavorful.
2o minutes per lb.
So a 25 lb bird takes 5 hours
Also if you lay your turkey on whole stalks of celery and whole carrots split lengthwise (3 or 4 of each), you will prevent the turkey from sticking, and create wonderful flavor to the pan drippings to make your gravy.
