No really good long term storage options. No negative to fall back on. Requires more and more storage space.

Depends on the digital camera. The really good ones made by Canon and Nikon that look like the old 35mm SLR bodies are just as good as traditional film cameras in terms of picture quality and what you can do with them. If you're talking about point-and-shoot digital cameras, they're usually limited in terms of range of zoom lenses, they're not as versatile for applications like night photography, and the resolution isn't as good -- but it's not really noticeable unless you're blowing pictures up to 8 x 10 or larger.
